Words With Friends “Love Letters”: Connection over Words Sparks a Walk Down the Aisle
Every day, millions of players connect and compete through word-play in Words With Friends. Our third annual Valentine’s Day in-game survey asked our players to share their stories of how they’ve connected with their family, friends and even random opponents. We’re inspired by the hundreds of stories we’ve received showcasing how our players thrive on competition and use their word-rivalry as a meaningful way to stay connected with one another. We can’t think of a better time than Valentine’s Day week to share players’ “love letters” in their own words. We hope you’re inspired by their wordie connections as much as we are!
Dear Words With Friends,
Thank you for being a part of my love story and bringing me and my fiancé together!
It was just last year that I noticed him playing Words With Friends while waiting for a concert to begin. I had seen him a few times before but we’d never talked. Since I love word games so much, I couldn’t resist striking up a conversation.
He immediately downloaded the game on my phone, helped me choose a username and started a game. From that point on, we haven’t stopped playing!
Once we finished the first game, we started a rematch, and were beginning to chat. For about a month and a half, we used our Words With Friends games to stay connected and get to know one another. Finally, after running into him one afternoon, we started to take our relationship offline. Three months later, he popped the question! We’re getting married this October.
I loved that playing against him was such a challenge — I was so impressed that he could keep up! Even now since our work schedules are different, we still have a game going at all times and use our moves to stay connected when we’re apart.
I can’t wait to walk down the aisle, and I know there are many more Words With Friends games in our future!
